The Norwegian-born composer and recording artist felt the pull of music so strongly
that he abandoned a very successful career as an international executive to
pursue his true passion ... Music. Trond is a uniquely gifted person with a
broad range of interests and notable accomplishments. He has climbed East
Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro, earned a Ph.D. at MIT, built and flown his own
hang glider, and composed music aboard his studio-equipped yacht in the West Indies.
Today, his sole focus is "To write and produce music that will have a major,
positive and lasting impact."
Trond is classically trained at the piano and has played a variety of instruments in
different jazz groups, bands and orchestras. As he moved around the world, he
lived in six countries on three continents. This broad personal experience and musical
exposure come together to develop the wide variety of styles and moods in which
he so convincingly expresses himself. These include New Age, Classical, Smooth
Jazz, Pop, Jazz, Easy Listening and Latin music.
Perhaps because of the strong visual content of his inspiration, Trond has a unique gift for writing
music that is "vivid and highly evocative". This gets put to
good use in Trond's scoring for visual media, because his music then works to amplify
the visual message.
Trond's CDs, Journey to the Heart released in 1998
and Gifts from the Ocean released in 2002, received very positive
reviews. Instrumental, and containing styles ranging from new age to
smooth jazz, both collections are unanimously reported to deliver a very satisfying listening -
and sensory - experience.
